Stomp for Support,
raising funds for Legacy.
Support young families and children
Support ageing and vulnerable widows
Support dependants with disabilities

The vast majority of Legacy's income is
donated by the public, and while we do have some running costs, we take very seriously the principle every possible dollar being spent on the widows and families of our fallen heroes.

Trooper David Pearce was
killed in October 2007 as a
result of a roadside bomb
attack while driving his
armoured vehicle near
Tarin Kowt in Afghanistan.
He became one of the
first
Australian casualties
in
Afghanistan, leaving
behind a wife; two small
children, and a saddened nation.
Trooper Pearce's death was a grim reminder of the risks faced by Australian defence personnel, and of the sacrifices they and their families, make on our behalf.
To help us bring hope to the lives of thousands of other widows and children in need by ensuring Legacy can continue to operate its vital services

Over 900 Army, Navy, Air force and connected Defence Force personnel joined key corporate businesses to celebrate the annual John Holland Defence Legacy Ball at Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre on Saturday, 10 September.
The hall was exquisitely presented. The floor featured Defence vehicles and interactive displays from Army, Navy and Air Force, all very impressive with suited officers as hosts. On arrival, if guests weren’t exploring ASLAVs and Bushmasters, they were getting touch ups at the Napoleon Beauty Bar...
Over 42,000 people turned out bright and early on Sunday 11th September to participate in the Bridge to Brisbane fun run. The event raised over $400,000 for charity, the majority going to Legacy in Queensland.
Participants who covered 5km and 10km routes, included former Olympians, elite athletes, mums, dads and even babies, enjoyed the course from the Gateway Bridge via Hamilton to the RNA showgrounds at Bowen Hills.
Amongst them were a mix of teams and individuals dedicated to completing the distance for Legacy’s young widows and families. Jonathan Gunnell, (brother of the late Private Timothy Aplin), David Jones (father of the late Lance Corporal Andrew Jones), a team from 2CER and a number of widows, legatees and family members together, raised over $65,000 in donations. There was even a team of 100 runners in the Middle East competing in their own B2B, all for the Legacy cause.
Red Friday is an initiative to show our support as a nation to the soldiers who are currently serving our country, and fighting to keep all Australians free.
All Australians are encouraged to show their support of our troops and wear red this Friday, and every Friday until they are home.
